Scholarships are awarded to a female graduate of Kwalikum Secondary School (KSS), Ballenas Secondary School (BSS), and Parksville Alternate Secondary School (PASS) each year. The awards are based on academic achievement, motivation and involvement in extracurricular activities in the school and the community.
The applicant must be proceeding by January of the following year to a degree program at an accredited Canadian university or college or to a university transfer program at a Canadian college or institution. There is no deferral of this award.
Application forms, including a confidential financial plan, are available through the schools’ counsellors or on the CFUW/PQ website. Other required documents include:
· A personal letter detailing academic achievements, community and school activities and interests.
· Updated copy of current grades 11 and 12 marks.
· 2 letters of reference, dated within the last 2 years.
· A copy of the chosen university’s acceptance letter.
A shortlist of candidates is decided upon and sent to the schools where the successful candidate is selected. Representative of the Trust attend graduation ceremonies and meet the winners.
