We use the information you provide when applying for a Scholarship/Bursary to complete the evaluation process. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the Scholarship/Bursary evaluation process or as required by law.
We use the information you provide about your referees only to complete the Scholarship/Bursary evaluation process. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the process. All applications are received in pdf format to an email account maintained solely by the Corresponding Secretary. Each Trustee receives a memory stick containing the eligible applications and after the evaluation process is completed, the sticks are returned to the Corresponding Secretary and the information is erased. One copy of all original applications will be retained for one year by the Treasurer and will then be deleted. Email addresses of all applicants will be retained by the Corresponding Secretary for one year only in order to advise applicants of eligibility for CFUW/PQ awards the following year and will then be deleted. Any printed documentation relating to applications and evaluation materials will be shredded after the evaluation process is completed.
On all application forms: applicants are given the option to agree or not to agree to allow their photographs, names and accomplishments to appear in local papers, on radio and in club newsletter and website.
This policy applies to donations received through all fundraising activities of the Scholarship and Bursary Trust, including: general donations, legacy giving and special fundraising initiatives.
All donations will be recorded and receipted in accordance with the rules and regulations set out by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Donors’ names and the amounts of private donations are not made public without permission.
