the power of words!
The Red Dresses represent Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People of Canada, and are intended to raise awareness, and to support the survivors and families.
Please visit either the Parksville City Hall or the Qualicum Beach Town hall, and take a few moments to contemplate the Red Dresses that have been hung in the public space.
The dresses will hang from November 25 to December 10.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that begins on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends on December 10, Human Rights Day. It was started at the inaugural Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and is one of the largest organizing strategies in the prevention and elimination of gender-based violence around the world.
Everyone can participate in this campaign in their own chosen way, and over the next few weeks we will be sharing some ideas and suggestions with you on ways to do this.
