Membership is open to all women who support the purposes of CFUW. It is not limited to university graduates. Our dynamic group consists of women from various backgrounds, education, and interests.
Your membership strengthens our voice when we advocate for change. You may participate in the group as much or as little as you want, knowing that your support is helping to foster social justice.
Our membership year runs from July 1 – June 30. Dues support the operation of the CFUW PQ club as well as the CFUW National organization.
Our meetings are held monthly, the second Monday of the month unless otherwise noted, at 7 pm at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre (QCC) or the MacMillan Arts Centre (MAC) in Parksville. Please check the Calendar for dates and locations, and for our list of upcoming speakers.
The purpose of CFUW, and CFUW PQ is as follows:
There are many benefits in being a part of this group. They can be summarised as follows:
We have a variety of different membership types. Full membership is for women who are not members of other CFUW clubs; dual membership is a reduced fee for those who have full membership elsewhere.

This year, the Town is proud to highlight three major milestones:
⭐ In 2022, the local election saw a historic outcome, where three out of the five council members elected were women, similar to the Town's population which is 54% female.
⭐ In 2022 Lou Varela was appointed as the Town's first female Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
⭐ In 2021 Heather Svensen was appointed as the Town’s first female Deputy CAO, having served as the Acting CAO for 8 months prior to Lou's appointment.
Here at the Town of Qualicum Beach, we are proud to represent capable, bright, and hardworking women, and recognize the many more in our community. Happy International Women’s Day Qualicum Beach!
